Next Jazz Legacy Set to Open Applications For Third Year of Mentoring Emerging Women & Non-Binary Jazz Musicians on August 31, 2023

Following a transformative first two years providing invaluable guidance and mentorship to emerging women and non-binary musicians, Next Jazz Legacy is thrilled to announce that they will be accepting applications for their 2024 cycle beginning on August 31st. Applications will be due by October 16, 2023, and will be submitted at New Music USA’s website here.

Focused on increasing opportunities for musicians most underrepresented in the art form, the three-year, national program launched by New Music USA and the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice – is a partnership

APPLETON – For the last decade, Mile of Music has introduced music lovers to hundreds of artists and bands “who are not household names but should be.”

According to its website, Mile of Music’s mission has been to “highlight homegrown talent and recruit the best emerging artists from all over the U.S.”

Because of this, the festival has traditionally brought in small, independent artists, but the early years of the festival featured some critically acclaimed performers, bringing names folk and country music lovers are likely to recognize.

She is part of Quartet Integra, one of two groups chosen by the La Jolla Music Society’s Fellowship Artist Program to participate in the annual SummerFest chamber music festival which opened Friday, July 28, and runs through Saturday, Aug. 26, in La Jolla.

Canada’s Walk of Fame RBC Emerging Musician Program is now accepting song submissions for its 2023 edition.


Supported by the RBC Foundation through RBC Emerging Artists, the launch pad has become well renowned for supporting aspiring Canadian musical artists for the past 11 years. Five emerging solo artists or groups are selected for the program each year, receiving prizes valued at more than $100,000. Song submissions are open until the end of the day, Sunday, July 16.
