Film Score Fest will premiere 18 Minnesota-made films with live orchestral scoring Sept. 4 in St. Paul’s Mears Park.

It’s the seventh year for Film Score Fest, which randomly pairs filmmakers and composers to create new short films with original scores that are performed live at the screening. The event has usually been held at the Science Museum of Minnesota, but it was moved outdoors for COVID safety.

The pandemic also plays into this year’s theme for filmmakers and composers: “adapt.”
