FITCHBURG — The Fitchburg Historical Society and Waterfall Productions present “Gothic Victorian Tales” by Candlelight, starring Rita Parisi, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Fitchburg Historical Society, 718 Main St.
This theatrical presentation will feature stories about curses, death, and immortality from the 19th century New England writer, Sarah Orne Jewett.
Jewett was a renowned writer from South Berwick, Maine, and a cousin of Fitchburg’s Jewett family, who lived in the city throughout the 1800s. Jewett’s short stories mirror the everyday lives of New Englanders; often reflecting the mysterious and supernatural.
Parisi has been entertaining audiences for over 25 years
