Black Fret Seattle got up and running before the pandemic struck, aimed at providing grants to local bands and musicians. Since then it has provided one round of funding, and is slated to give out another $5,000, no strings attached, at a time when musicians need it most.

KUOW’s Kim Malcolm spoke to Black Fret’s executive director Ben London about why they do what they do.
