San Diego —
County officials hope to attract movie makers to the area through an office that would streamline permitting and other services for film productions.
The board voted unanimously Tuesday to launch a regional film office with the city of San Diego, the Port of San Diego and other local jurisdictions.
San Diego previously had a regional film office that operated through the Tourism Authority for 30 years, but it was dissolved in 2013, the board letter stated. Since then the region has missed out on economic opportunities, officials said.
